On My Way To Grandma's
My grandma lives in Mendocino, and in order for me to see her, I need to cross either the Golden Gate Bridge, or the Bay Bridge. I took the GG on my way there (no toll in that direction) and on my way back, I took the Bay Bridge (no toll that way).
Result ? More cash in my pocket.
I was holding the camera while I was driving. I didn't pay too much attention to how it looked because I had to focus on the road. So I just held it up and hoped for the best.

Merry Christmas :)
Hello Loves,
Just wanted to wish you a happy holiday season. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !
I am planning on visiting my family tomorrow. I am just sad my brother won't be going up with me. It's usually our tradition to ride up together. But I am happy to be seeing my dad and my grandparents.
So that is all for now. Just want to keep it short and sweet.

Lethal Beauty
The Golden Gate Bridge is the most popular place to commit suicide in the United States. There is no barrier and it is really easy to jump off.

Theme Of The Month..............
Hello,
The theme of the month in the photo blogs is "waiting".
I was in San Francisco this past weekend and this man seems to be waiting for the sun to go down so he could go to sleep where ever it is that he sleeps. He is probably homeless as there are a lot of homeless men on the streets in San Francisco.
This was taken at the Pier, I forget which one exactly. While all of the tourists ( myself and my friends included) were busy waiting in line or hurrying to see the next site (we were scurrying to see the Golden Gate Bridge before sundown) this man was just taking it easy the whole time. Not a care in the world. At least not for now.

Montalvo Arts Center
This statue was in the gardens at the Montalvo Arts Center. The garden is large and it's free. It was this garden that inspired me to buy another digital camera and take pictures of the garden as well as the SF Bay Area.

Montalvo Arts Center, June 2009
This was taken at the Montalvo Arts Center, a garden area which is free to the public. It is also used to host concerts and events. You could get married on this property. The gardens are beautiful. This rose was taken behind the house, which used to belong to James Phelan, one of California's first senators. I will post more pictures later. This is about a 20 minute drive from my house.

Downtown San Jose
Hello,
This is a shot of a storefront in downtown San Jose. I think all those spaces within are vacated. The economy hasn't been too kind. It's like the buildings were rennovated and ready for tenants before the recession. I am not sure what happened.

Milpitas Town Center
This is a picture of a shopping center in Milpitas, CA, a town I grew up in. It was recently rebuilt and looks nothing like it used to. I miss the old town center, but this will do too.

Highway 128, California
This was taken on the way to Mendocino, CA. I decided to step out of the car and take pictures. I was blasting the stereo in my car. When I got out, everything was so peaceful and calm, and the air was crisp, even though this was in the middle of summer.

Grandma's Back Yard, Mendocino, CA
Hello,
This picture was taken over the summer of this year in my grandma's back yard in Mendocino, CA. In addition to the deer, there are also squirrels, tons of birds including crows and quail, and racoons.

San Jose VTA
Hello All,
This shot was taken in the heart of Downtown San Jose. On the left, is Saint James Park. To the right is the Santa Clara County Courthouse which has a history of it's own.
I used to live down this block. I miss it so much.
In this picture is the VTA Light rail. It runs through San Jose and a couple of other cities. The station is a block away from my house so I can just hop on it if I need to get downtown. It's free for me now, as I have a free pass from work.
Anyway, that is all for now. I should be posting more this weeked.

Sunrise, September 2008, Cupertino, CA
Good Morning !
This is a picture of a sunrise I captured last year. A friend of mine and I decided to drive up the hill nearby and watch the sunset. I have more pictures and will post them later, but this was a magical moment for sure.

Between Buildings, Downtown San Jose, CA
Downtown San Jose has changed in the last twenty years. It has definitely been cleaned up, with nicer buildings. Buildings have been repaired and repainted. But there are still some eyesores, such as this one. Sometimes buildings are repainted and repaired on the sides that face the public. But this is in front of a parking lot. On the left is what is a boarded up church, and on the right is a building that has been repaired and remodeled. But you can see that the side showing in the picture, that it hasn't been repainted or remodeled on that side. It is currently empty and waiting for someone to lease it.

Sign of the Times
This used to be Mervyns, a California based clothing store that declared bankruptcy last year and closed its doors for good in January of this year. Mervyns has been around for as long as I can remember, and it is where I was taken for back-to-school clothing as well everything else. A lot of memories.
The last time I bought something there was last year, I bought a nice pair of red shoes. When I bought those shoes, I was happy that I was finally living in a nice new apartment with a nice roommate.
Since then, Mervyns is gone, and so is that apartment. My roommate lost his job in January (and the work visa with it) and was forced to fly home.
This empty building is sometimes used for seasonal stores like the Halloween Store, but it usually sits empty all the time.
Just an empty shell of what it once was.

Meow !
This is a cat I saw on my way to physical therapy yesterday. Just resting on a pile of leaves in someone's front garden. In the street across from this house, there was a huge commotion, as technicians were fixing something in the road and cops were monitoring the street. But this cat was none the wiser.

First Posting !
Good day my little macaroons !
So this is my first posting in this blog. I've been noticing photo blogs from around the world, from many countries. People from these countries snapping photos from all different cities such as Barcelona, Milan, Paris, Dubai just to name a few. It inspired me to start my own blog to show people my corner of the world. We all have something to share, and someone somewhere is curious about where you live.
I also feel that the quote above is very fitting. As a child my father used to show us the movie, Auntie Mame, a lady who took care of her nephew. Though she often got drunk and threw parties, she did teach her nephew to travel the world and enjoy life to the fullest. There is a whole world out there, so much to see, and so many people don't get to enjoy that.
So I will be posting pictures of San Jose, California which is the large city in the San Francisco Bay Area. I will also include pictures of other cities in the area.
The heading on this blog was taken today to kick off this new blog, and it is of an old building in the middle of the newer buildings that are on that street. This building houses law firms, a restaurant, bar and apartments. It is also my old neighborhood. I lived on that street until March 2009, and I miss it very much.
So welcome ! And if you have a picture blog, please do share ! I would love to add your blog to my blogroll.
