Winchester Mystery House

Well, I am a San Jose Senorita, so here is a picture taken here in San Jose.

This is the Winchester Mystery House. Basically Sarah Winchester was a crazy old woman. Her husband made guns, the Winchester rifle. Her spiritual adviser told her that her house was haunted by people killed by her husband's rifle.

In order to appease those spirits, she would have to continue building the mansion for them. Therefore, the construction proceeded around-the-clock, without interruption, from 1884 until her death on September 5, 1922, at which time work immediately ceased. The cost for such constant building has been estimated at about US $5.5 million, about $70 Million today, ( Information from Wikipedia)

Bridge Meme, Week 2

Again, I dug into my archives. This picture was taken during the summer of 2004 in San Sebastian, Spain. I lived in Barcelona at the time, but took a busride to San Sebastian for a couple of days.

April Theme Of The Month: Red

Hello,

I have been a very busy Senorita lately, and I haven't had a lot of time to take new photos, so I cheated and dug into the archives.

This photo was from my time in Austria when my grandmother was still alive back in the summer of 2005. She took us to the Alps in Austria and we stayed in a hut on the alps. She was a member of a club where she and the rest of her mountain climbing crew cooked food and provided a place to sleep for the hikers. They paid a small fee and my grandma and great aunts cooked for them and they could sleep upstairs.

This picture was one of the many I took up there.

Sunrise, September 2008

This was taken in the Cupertino hills, which is about a 20 min drive from San Jose. My friend took me to see the sunrise and then we had breakfast after.

Montalvo Arts Center, Saratoga, CA

The Montalvo Arts Center is in Saratoga, CA. It was built in 1912 and used to be the home of James Phelan, who used to be the senator of California.

In addition to the lovely villa, there is also a beautiful garden, hiking trail, and concert hall. It is a beautiful place to have a wedding or other celebration.

March Theme: Passageway

Hello Loves,

For this month's theme, I had to dig into my archives......... You know, go back to 2005 when I was living in Barcelona, Spain.

This was the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya. I was waiting for the train to take me back home. I was out teaching English in a peaceful area that I forgot the name of. Basically there was a chapel and a walkway as well as an activity center. My student and I were sitting under the trees having a lesson.

I remember this day a little bit. I remember after I got back to the train station, I was craving Butifarra with beans that they were offering at the train station. Nothing like having cash in my pockets to burn on food and a Nestea Iced tea in a bottle.
